Meanwhile, sixth seed Cheung Ngan Yi of Hong Kong stunned No.2 seed Carolina Marin of Spain 21-12, 21-19. She plays the winner of the last quarter-final between Indian fourth seed Saina Nehwal and fifth seed Zhang Beiwen of the US. The second seeded pair joined Ratchanok in the last four after beating Indian No.7 seeds Meghana Jakkampudi and Poorvisha S Ram 21-10, 21-15.
